Stamp: The MLP fandom is HORRENDOUS!

I have nothing against people who are addicted to this show, but I am sick and tired of seeing every fandom getting angry when somebody express his "hate" against their favorite show!


"Most fandoms in general nowadays are horrendous. DeviantArt, in particular, has become nothing but a cesspool of "art" pandering to specific fandom’s, lazy trace over, people that do not understand characters and story-writing making fan-fiction and promoting shipping’s that make no sense, and talentless people making content because it is a free domain. Just because everyone can make art and anyone can be an artist or writer, does not mean that everyone can be talented at those things. I cannot deny that I used to be one of these people that pander to specific fandoms for the sake of getting my art recognized. I am ashamed of it and it is one of the reasons I have a hard time making art anymore. I feel like I would be contributing to something cancerous. To say that a fandom of something is horrible is not to say that something in and of it is horrible. MLP is an OK show for little girls, much better than the premise allows it to be I think. Steven Universe, even though I find Steven's voice to be annoying as shit and the show itself to be overly sappy at times, is well written, beautifully animated, and compelling in its storytelling. Things like Undertale and Five Nights at Freddy's are simply "victims" to runaway fandoms. While it is nice for something unique and quirky to get recognition, sometimes fandoms can become so massive, so infestation like a parasite, and so damn crazy to the point of being absolute zealots that it retracts people from what they like. I am sick of seeing the same shit on here repeatedly. Why don't I just quit the site? Because the phenomenon of what happens here fascinates me every day, I feel like DeviantArt as a community, allows me to study society from the position of a curious spectator."

I agree with everything that DestroX71689 said here.   Most of the fandom is ready to do everything just to destroy your favorite fanbase, hence, they are even ready to stab you with a fork if you dare to tell them how their favorite show is horrendous.
